Scholarships
The 2027 Space Camp® General Scholarship application window opens Monday, September 28 at 12:01 AM and closes Sunday, December 6 at 11:59 PM.
Scholarships for the Space Camp® family of programs are awarded to students who can demonstrate a financial need or academic excellence. A financial need form is included within the application, and applicants may be asked to provide additional documentation such as proof of qualification for free/reduced lunch and/or tax documentation. A school verification form is included within the application for the academic excellence scholarship.

Student Applicants must:
- Be 9 to 18 years old as of May 2027 and have completed grades 4 through 12 by summer 2027
- Maintain a GPA of 3.25 or higher to apply for the Academic Excellence scholarship
- Have not previously been awarded a general camp scholarship from the U.S. Space & Rocket Center Education Foundation
- Can be from anywhere on the planet!
- Answer 3 essay questions
- Design and describe a mission patch
- Describe a science project using the scientific method or engineering design process (academic excellence only)
- Depending on which scholarship is being applied for, upload a copy of the completed form provided in the application for financial need or school verification
- Expeditions run late May through late August
Educator Applicants must:
- Teach in a public or private school
- Can be from anywhere on the planet!
- Answer 2 essay questions
- STEM/STEAM educators are preferred, but all educators are welcome to apply
- Have not previously been awarded a general camp scholarship from the U.S. Space & Rocket Center Education Foundation
- Expeditions available in June and July
Scholarships do not cover travel to Huntsville, AL, or incidentals. Students must raise their own funds for transportation to/from Huntsville, AL.
Due to capacity, scholarship dates are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.
