The applicant qualifies in more than one category – how to choose?
Supporting documentation for a category counts for 10 out of a possible 100 points for the completed application. So, it is usually best to apply in the strongest category. Be sure to include information about other strengths, including those that would apply to a secondary category, in the body of the application. For example, if an applicant applies in the special needs category but has strong leadership and/or academic achievement qualifications, there are plenty of opportunities to include those strengths in the essays, patch design and explanation, and in the letters of recommendation.
